TITLE: Bus Driver
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or valid G.E.D.
- Valid CDL license and Bus Driving Certification
- Able to demonstrate aptitude for the workto be performed
- A history of good attendance, being dependable and punctual
- Able to work efficiently without direct supervision
- Able to communicate effectively with children and adults

REPORTS TO: Transportations Manager
JOB GOALS: To provide students with safe and efficient transportation.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Observes all mandatory safety regulationsand traffic laws for school buses.
- Maintains discipline when students are on the bus and reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
- Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects and maintains bus cleanliness. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure.
- Transports only authorized students to and from their authorized stops.
- Enforces all passenger safety rules and regulations.
- Notifies the appropriate authories of all accidents by completing the required reports. Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of district school trips.
- All of duties as may be assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine-month year. Hourly rate and workdays to be established by the Board approved schedules.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff.
