JOB DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE:

Paraprofessional Behavior Resource Center

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.

High school diploma or G.E.D.

 

2.

Associates degree related to education preferred

 

3.

Ability to implement and follow designed behavior intervention program

 

 

Ability to form productive relationships with students

 

4.

Work history of good attendance, dependability, and punctuality

 

5.

Self-motivated and ability to work effectively without close supervision

 

6.

Ability to follow directions effectively

 

7.

Excellent organizational skills

 

8.

Demonstrated computer skills appropriate for the position

 

9.

Ability to pass the requisite assessment.

 

 

Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL:

To provide students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become life-long learners and responsible citizens by providing behavioral and instructional support in a self-contained alternative classroom.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list represents the essential tasks performed by the position. These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. 1.

Maintains and respects confidentiality of all information acquired.

 

2.

Oversees the Behavioral Resource Center (BRC) program.

 

3.

Prepares the BRC for daily activities.

 

4.

Obtains daily BRC roster of students, required assignments, and schedules.

 

5.

Provides students with their daily assignments from his/her individual teachers.

 

6.

Guides students in filling out intake forms and discusses behavior issues with them.

 

7.

Uses behavior intervention program curriculum to develop lesson plans based on the needs of the students on any given day.

 

8.

Monitors completion of all assignments.

 

9.

Maintains courteous and professional relationships with students, teachers, staff, parents, and treats all with respect.

 

10.

Supervises any student on-campus community service tasks.

 

11.

Attends required professional development programs.

 

12.

Performs all other duties as may be assigned for the benefit of school programs.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

School days and hours per year as designated in a one-year work agreement.  Salary to be established with the Board.

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
