Bullhead City Elementary School District is seeking a highly qualified Principal at Fox Creek Jr. High School.
TITLE: Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or higher with a degree in Educational Administration
- A valid Arizona certificate to practice as a school principal
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Director of Educational Services, Director of English Language Development, Director of Special Education, Director of Community and Public Relations
SUPERVISES: Assistant Principal, Teachers, Other Certified Staff, Paraprofessionals and other Classified Staff, Students, all others authorized to be present on the school site

- Promote the success of all students by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported within the school community.
- Promote the success of all students by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff development.
- Promote the success of all students by ensuring the management of the organization, operation, and resources to ensure an efficient and effective learning environment.
- Implement the necessary actions required to demonstrate effective leadership through self-reflection, change management, and clear communication.
- Demonstrate collaborative leadership through formation and implementation of a site leadership team.
- Supervise the professional staff’s implementation of the curriculum approved by the Governing Board to meet the diverse needs of the community served.
- Supervise the professional staff in implementation of instructional strategies to present curriculum effectively.
- Implement Governing Board policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the school.
- Collaborate with the Principals at other sites to ensure equivalent expectations for and management of student conduct.
- Collaborate with the Directors of Educational Services, Special Education, and English Language Development to provide programs and services to serve all students.
- Consult with and coordinates the services of paraprofessionals to effectively assist teachers.
- Supervise the direction of the school’s extracurricular programs (e.g., tutoring, enrichment, clubs, athletics
- Prepare or cause to be prepared reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the school’s administration.
- Coach and evaluate all staff members regarding their individual and group performance.
- Recruit, screen, recommend for hire, train, assign, and evaluate the school’s professional and classified staff in collaboration with the various Directors as appropriate.
- Foster good interpersonal relationships with and among students, staff, and parents.
- Collaborate with the Director of Community and Public Relations to further the community’s knowledge of the school, and understanding and support of the educational program.
- Participate actively in the District committees and professional development, modeling a commitment to collaboration, growth, and professionalism.
- Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings/webinars, reading professional journals and other publications, discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
- Perform other tasks within the area of leadership as assigned by the Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240 days/1920 hours per year with a one-year contract. Salary to be
established with the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
Job Type: Full-time, flex schedule 4-5 days a week
