Bullhead City Elementary School District is seeking a highly qualified Principal at Fox Creek Jr. High School.  

 

TITLE: Principal


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s degree or higher with a degree in Educational Administration
  2. A valid Arizona certificate to practice as a school principal

Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.


REPORTS TO: Superintendent


WORKS CLOSELY WITH:  Director of Educational Services, Director of English Language Development, Director of Special Education, Director of Community and Public Relations


SUPERVISES: Assistant Principal, Teachers, Other Certified Staff, Paraprofessionals and other Classified Staff, Students, all others authorized to be present on the school site


JOB GOAL: Provide leadership in all aspects of the school site.

  1. Promote the success of all students by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported within the school community.
  2. Promote the success of all students by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff development.
  3. Promote the success of all students by ensuring the management of the organization, operation, and resources to ensure an efficient and effective learning environment.
  4. Implement the necessary actions required to demonstrate effective leadership through self-reflection, change management, and clear communication.
  5. Demonstrate collaborative leadership through formation and implementation of a site leadership team.
  6. Supervise the professional staff’s implementation of the curriculum approved by the Governing Board to meet the diverse needs of the community served.
  7. Supervise the professional staff in implementation of instructional strategies to present curriculum effectively.
  8. Implement Governing Board policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the school.
  9. Collaborate with the Principals at other sites to ensure equivalent expectations for and management of student conduct.
  10. Collaborate with the Directors of Educational Services, Special Education, and English Language Development to provide programs and services to serve all students.
  11. Consult with and coordinates the services of paraprofessionals to effectively assist teachers.
  12. Supervise the direction of the school’s extracurricular programs (e.g., tutoring, enrichment, clubs, athletics
  13. Prepare or cause to be prepared reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the school’s administration.
  14. Coach and evaluate all staff members regarding their individual and group performance.
  15. Recruit, screen, recommend for hire, train, assign, and evaluate the school’s professional and classified staff in collaboration with the various Directors as appropriate.
  16. Foster good interpersonal relationships with and among students, staff, and parents.
  17. Collaborate with the Director of Community and Public Relations to further the community’s knowledge of the school, and understanding and support of the educational program.
  18. Participate actively in the District committees and professional development, modeling a commitment to collaboration, growth, and professionalism.
  19. Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings/webinars, reading professional journals and other publications, discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
  20. Perform other tasks within the area of leadership as assigned by the Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240 days/1920 hours per year with a one-year contract. Salary to be
established with the Board.


EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.

 

Job Type: Full-time, flex schedule 4-5 days a week
