This position is for the 2026-27 School Year.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Child care experience preferred

Work history of good attendance, dependability, and punctuality
- Ability to work effectively, and take direction from the lead teacher, to meet the demands of the daily classroom operations
- Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, crawl, lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to effectively communicate with children and adults in order to best meet the needs of the children
- Must obtain a T.B. skin test and current Infant / Child C.P.R. and First Aid certification
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.

Works Closely With: Assigned Teacher – Caregiver, staff, and Coordinator
Job Goal:
To support the Teacher – Caregiver in providing high quality child care by helping maintain a safe and healthy learning environment and facilitate activities to help promote children’s continued growth and development.
Performance Responsiblities:

- Follow all center policies, state licensing regulations, and quality first standards as directed by the Teacher – Caregiver or Coordinator.
- Assist with actively supervising children to ensure their health and safety at all times.
- Provide support with the overall classroom operations and routines including meal service, diapering / toileting, hand washing, cleaning and sanitation.
- Assist with facilitating learning activities and encouraging children to fully participate to promote their growth and development.
- Actively participate in child-directed play, manage classroom cleanliness and availability of materials based on children’s interest.
- Encourage the development of self-help skills and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Utilize positive guidance techniques to help children learn appropriate behaviors.
- Maintain and respect confidentiality of all information acquired.
- Engage in behaviors conducive to team building, such as open communication, encouragement, support, and acceptance of others.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment: 201 days/year. Hourly rate and workdays established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Staff.
