TITLE: Night Custodian
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or valid G.E.D.
2. Possess valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint card.
3. Able to show experience as a school custodian, or the equivalent in a custodial position at another institution or firm.
4. Able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the basic techniques of electrical and maintenance, carpentry and grounds maintenance.
5. Ability to read and follow basic operating instructions.
6. Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the tasks assigned. Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL:
To maintain the physical district offices, school sites and grounds in a condition of operating excellence so that full use of them may be made at all times.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform duties in the evenings within the school year and during the day throughout summer.
2. Participate in general cleaning and maintenance of school buildings and district offices.
3. Assist in necessary painting and general repairs necessary for maintenance of buildings.
4. Promote the safety, health and comfort of the students and employees.
5. Keep buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times.
6. Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
7. Check bathrooms each night to ensure that all equipment is working and there are adequate supplies on hand.
8. Report major damage or repairs needed promptly to the Lead Site Custodian.
9. Clean corridors after school each night.
10. Keep all floors in clean and attractive condition.
11. Scrub, hose down and disinfect toilet floors, cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains.
12. Clean glass doors and panels on a nightly basis.
13. Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
14. Participate in general cleaning and maintenance of the district offices and school sites, including but not limited to, sweeping offices and classrooms, dusting furniture, cleaning whiteboards and removing marks on furniture and walls on a nightly basis.
15. Move furniture/equipment within buildings as required for various activities as directed by the Lead Site Custodian.
16. Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective function of the District.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
5 days per week at 4 hours per day/260 days. Hourly rate and workdays established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Staff.
